Experienced growth LAMBAYEQUE FROM THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2012 BY PROJECT OLMOS 
The agriculture and the category of goods and services in Lambayeque will experience significant growth from the first quarter of 2012, after completing the tunneling project Trasandino Olmos said the Chamber of Commerce and local production.
Jorge Vera, manager of the business association, said that in agriculture the auction 38.000 hectares Olmos Valley has motivated the interest of Spanish investors, Chilean, American, Ecuador and Israel.
“The interest of investors for the issue of agricultural exports has a multiplier effect of investment opportunities in all sectors, especially real estate,” he said.
Olmos said the project has generated the increase in land prices exponentially. “For example, in a residential area an area of 120 to 160 square meters which cost between 15,000 to $ 20,000, today no less than 150 000″ he said.
He said there is high demand for land, as many investors are not just building buildings for housing, but also for offices, because a large group of entrepreneurs are interested in settling in the area to do business.
On the other hand, said Olmos project benefits are also reflected in the expansion of malls and department stores.
“The region already have Sodimac, Maestro Home Center, Tottus, Metro, Plaza Vea, Ripley and two malls like Plaza and Open Plaza Real, and many of them have planned to expand to strategic areas,” said business leader.
At another point he said that is expected to create four to six new cities in the parts surrounding the project Olmos.
Also reported that the district municipality has submitted a project through which requests that Olmos could become the fourth province in the northern province of Lambayeque.
Revealed that a chain of hotels in Brazil, as a result of this project, has shown interest to build a five star hotel dedicated to businessmen.
Vera said that currently in Lambayeque chain Casa Andina, Los Portales and Costa del Sol
“I think 2012 will be a key year for our region because the Olmos project is attracting the eyes of large investors in various sectors, this will give you great growth dynamics of Lambayeque,” he said.
The Regional Government of Lambayeque 496 meters reported missing to complete the Trans tunneling Olmos project, and is expected to work a total of 19.3 kilometers long and 4.8 meters in diameter, is ready later this year.
The tunnel, once ready, will transfer 406 million cubic meters of river water for irrigation Huancabamba in a first phase of 43,000 hectares of land in the valley of Olmos.
Of the total acres, 38,000 will be new and 5.000 of the ancient valley farmers and the rural community of Santo Domingo de Olmos.
